Liposculpture, which is also known as liposuction, is the most suitable procedure to contour your body by eliminating areas of stubborn fat. Certain parts of the body such as the thighs and tummy, are prone to pockets of fat that do not respond to exercise or healthy eating. These are the areas that liposuction surgery can target in order to dissolve the fat and create a more refined figure.
Why choose liposuction?
Men and women who have areas of localized fat choose liposculpture because they desire a slimmer, trimmer figure. This procedure can ‘fine-tune’ those troublesome areas, creating the svelte shape you may have always dreamed of. After this surgery, patients don’t just look a lot better, but also feel more confident in their own skin.
What happens during the surgery?
Liposculpture is a technique that’s used for sculpting the face and body. Some of the commonly-treated areas include the face, flanks, upper arms and thighs. This procedure can be done under general or local anaesthesia. It involves the removal of fat deposits from the body, through a cannula (small metal tube). The cannula is inserted through tiny incisions made in liposculpture-targeted parts of the body.
Things to be aware of after the procedure
Patients are usually required to wear a support garment for up to 3 weeks after liposuction surgery. In the first 2-3 days they can also expect fluid to drain. There will also be some pain and discomfort, but pain medication will be prescribed. Complete recovery takes approximately 3 weeks, but it can take up to 3 months to see the final results.
