As we age, our breasts tend to lose volume and may even begin to sag.

Women who are happy with the volume of breast tissue they have but still feel they have sagging breasts, would be a great fit for a breast lift, also known as mastopexy.

This procedure will not only lift your breasts, but also improve the shape.

The Procedure

A breast lift can be performed under general or local anesthesia. However, there are different techniques that can be used to carry out the procedure, and this will determine where the incisions are made. This should be discussed with your plastic surgeon before surgery, to determine the best option for you.

After Surgery

After surgery, patients are required to wear a soft cup bra for up to 4 weeks, in order to protect the breasts. The breasts will be swollen and bruised, and there is also likely to be some pain, which can be alleviated with pain medication. Patients can resume activities within 3 to 5 days, but full recovery takes several weeks.
