Instructions for Pre Operation Checks and Blood Test

ALL Patients going for surgery will have to have these following Pre Operation Check & Blood Test done.

All reports have to at least submit to the clinic 7 days before surgery to ensure that it is checked by our appointed Anesthetist and Dr Marco Faria-Correa.

Your Surgery will be Postponed or Cancelled if there are any abnormalities in your Pre Operation Reports. You will then be asked to seek medical attention before your next surgery date is book.

Medications

DO NOT TAKE ANY OF THESE FOLLOWING MEDICATIONS ONCE YOU BOOKED FOR SURGERY AT LEAST 2 WEEKS TO 4 WEEKS BEFORE DATE OF SURGERY.

1. Vitamin E
2. Multi Vitamins that contains Vitamin E
3. Chinese Medicine
4. Chinese Herbs
5. Malay/ Indonesian Herbs/ Jamu
6. Gingo Bililoba
7. Noni Juice
8. Ginseng
9. Pien Tze Huang
10. Aspirin or Acetyl Salicylic Acid and Medication which contains Aspirin
11. Hormone Replacement Therapy
12. Anti oxidant / Anti ageing

TAKING THESE MEDICATIONS WILL INCREASE YOUR TENDENCY TO BLEED AT THE TIME OF SURGERY. YOU WILL BE INSTRUCTED WHEN TO RESTART THESE MEDICATIONS AFTER SURGERY

PLEASE CHECK WITH THE DOCTOR/ CLINIC ABOUT THE MEDICATIONS YOU ARE TAKING IF YOU ARE UNSURE

SMOKING

Smokers should try to stop smoking from the time of the surgery booking date.

Smokers should try and stop smoking at least 1 week before surgery and 2 weeks after surgery.

This is to prevent skin necrosis (skin may die).

Smoking irritates nasal passengers and causes coughing which might bring on a bleed several days after your operation. It is also a contraindication with General Anaesthesia. Smoking also slows healing due to a decreased blood supply to the operated area.

Pre Operation

Report any sign of cold, infection, fever, appearing before surgery.

If you are unwell, surgery will be postponed to ensure your SAFETY.

THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SURGERY

Fasting is needed before surgery time. You have to keep fasted at least 6 hours to 8 hours before surgery time.

It means NO FOOD, NO DRINK, and NO WATER.

THE MORNING OF SURGERY

No make up. No Mascara.

Make sure your face is totally clean.

This is to prevent any Infection especially surgery is on your face.

Remove ALL JEWELLERY or ANY Metal Accessories on your body to avoid any BURNS or INJURY during surgery due to the electric cautery used during surgery.

Do not eat or drink.

Be PUNCTUAL to arrive at the hospital at the required time. Arriving late may cause you to spend more money as this will increase the total hospital bill.

Do not take any medications other then those you have been advised.

Do not take any valuable to the hospital except cash / credit card that you need.

Remember to bring your Pressure Garments/ Corset & Admission Forms to the Hospital.

TRANSPORT INSTRUCTIONS

YOU MUST NOT DRIVE HOME AFTER YOUR OPERATION. You should make arrangements for a responsible person to accompany you home after the operation.
